Derived from jazz, tap, and cultural dance genres, hip-hop is a dynamic and high-energy dance form that requires both technical precision and artistic expression. At IBT, beginning hip-hop students hone their sense of rhythm and isolate movement throughout the course of the year, culminating in a performance that showcases their progress. This fun and highly sought-after class is one of our most popular offerings, enjoyed by many students.
Hip-Hop 2
(8-12 by teacher placement)
Hip-Hop 2 classes provide students with the opportunity to learn and master the essential techniques of locking, popping, and commercial dance. These classes utilize both classic and contemporary chart music to further enhance the skills of students. With a year-end performance showcasing their development, students are able to showcase their passion and talent for hip-hop dance in a professional setting.
Hip-Hop 3
(13+ by teacher placement)
With a focus on technical moves that require exceptional strength and control, students develop individuality, physical prowess, and self-assurance through this dynamic and expressive style of dance. Advanced Hip-Hop 3 students are given the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents in various outreach programs, which further elevates their performance abilities.
