Ballet/Pointe
Placement in ballet classes for dancers age 5 and up is by placement class audition. This class is free of charge and will determine the best placement for new students.
Ages are a guideline and classes will be adjusted, as needed, to meet the needs of the dancer and to prevent risk for injury.

Pre-Ballet
3-5 years
Your child can experience the joy of ballet while refining their motor skills and musicality. Our classes offer a perfect blend of creativity and imagination, enabling children to express themselves fully. Our program is suitable for both boys and girls, who love to engage with one another at this young age. Our approach is characterized by a sense of fun, expressiveness, and informality, making it an ideal primer for more advanced ballet training at the Primary level.
Primary Ballet
5+ years, teacher placement
As the young learners’ attention spans can dwindle, creative and imaginative methods are employed to enhance engagement and facilitate progression in the graded ballet. The Pre-Ballet foundation provides a stepping stone for the children to build upon, as they enhance their musicality, coordination, and concentration skills, which prepare them to advance to graded levels. Enrollment is open to both genders from the age of five years upwards, and placement is based on class aptitude.
Grade 1-6 Ballet
8+ years, by teacher
Our graded classes serve as a vital cornerstone to any dance student’s journey, and our facilities cater to a diverse array of dance forms. Our esteemed and compassionate faculty provide unwavering support and guidance, while our graded ballet classes remain a constant source of challenge and growth for aspiring dancers. Our classes are designed to enhance technique, foster strength, cultivate musicality, adapt flexibility, and refine coordination – gradually intensifying in difficulty as dancers progress with their abilities.
Teen Ballet
13+ years, beginner
We welcome teens who desire to embark on a ballet journey, offering an unparalleled opportunity to cultivate confidence, strength, and endurance. Our classes offer a nurturing atmosphere, fostering positive self-esteem and refined skill. Our skilled instructors guide students to hone their technical abilities while expanding their knowledge of ballet movement and terminology — ultimately enhancing their appreciation of this timeless art form.

Intermediate Ballet
teacher placement, experience required
The Intermediate Ballet curriculum is a vocational and structured program, meticulously crafted for pupils who possess competence and proficiency in dance, qualifying them for a more rigorous and demanding level of training. Ballet, being an art that necessitates time, practice, and devotion, our Intermediate Ballet sessions cater to dedicated ballerinas and danseurs who aspire to become professional performers.
Advanced Ballet
pre-professional & professional
Our Advanced Ballet program is designed to provide the ideal learning environment for aspiring ballerinas and danseurs who possess a notable level of pre-professional ballet training. Given our commitment to classical technique, we have observed that students labeled as ‘advanced’ in other schools typically find the optimal fit within our intermediate level.
Adult Ballet
by teacher placement
Our adult ballet classes cater to a wide range of skill levels, from the novice to the advanced dancer. Our seasoned instructors take pride in tailoring their instruction to the specific needs of each student, ensuring a positive and nurturing learning environment for all. Pointe and Partnering
Pointe is the embodiment of excellence in ballet and a coveted objective for every aspiring ballerina. With a team of over 30 highly accomplished dancers en pointe at all times, IBT prides itself on providing a safe and conducive environment for students to embark on their Pointe journey.
To enable dancers to transition to Pointe work, IBT emphasizes the essential role of correct body positioning and alignment, sufficient turnout, strength and balance, mastery of basic ballet techniques, and emotional maturity. Our adept directors personally assess each student’s readiness for Pointe work, given the complexities involved in ensuring a safe and fruitful experience. When students reach the appropriate level in their graded ballet instruction to commence their pointe journey, our teachers recommend them to the IBT directors for further guidance. We also offer partnering classes in tandem with our pointe program to ensure comprehensive learning experiences for our students.
